Mark Krakauer, MD

Dr. Mark Krakauer grew up in Virginia and graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia, with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He is a graduate of Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. He completed his training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University. Like the other doctors at St. Thomas Children and Adults Medical Group, Dr. Krakauer did extra residency training to be fully qualified to care for patients of all ages, from the first day of life through old age. In addition to regular office hours at STMG, he also cares for inpatients at St. Thomas Hospital and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Krakauer’s philosophy is to promote overall physical and emotional well-being through a respectful and supportive patient-physician relationship, with an emphasis on preventative medicine. Like all Internists and Pediatricians, Dr. Krakauer also specializes in caring for acute and chronic illnesses, such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

As a son, father, brother, and husband, Dr. Krakauer strives to treat every patient as he would a family member. He understands the importance of treating the whole person, and not just the disease or current problem. He also especially enjoys taking care of families.
